Telangana has the 8th largest economy among Indian states, as the GDP of the state in the year 2024-25 is estimated at ₹16.41 lakh crore. With 2.72% of the country's population, Telangana contributed 4.72% to the national GDP in 2023-24. The GSDP of Telangana is almost half of that of the largest South Indian state, Tamil Nadu, and 1.03x that of Andhra Pradesh.
Telangana has a GDP (nominal) of around 194 billion US dollars in 2024. The economy of Telangana is equivalent to that of Ukraine, the 58th largest economy in the world.
Telangana's real GSDP growth rate for 2024-25 was 8.08%, the 8th highest in India. During the period 2012-24, it has the average growth rate of 7.51%, the 7th highest in the country.
In 2024-25, Telangana’s per capita income was ₹387,623, 1.89 times the national average. Telangana ranked 5th among 34 states and union territories and highest in South India. The nominal GDP per capita of Telangana Pradesh is estimated at 4,912 dollars in 2024; that is equivalent to that of Samoa, the 115th richest economy in the world.
In 2024-25, the services (tertiary) sector contributed 67.16% of the state’s Gross State Value Added (GSVA), followed by the primary sector (17.00%) and the secondary sector (15.83%).
