As per the report of the Technical Group by the National Commission, the population of Manipur is projected to be 3,260,000, or 3.26 million, or 32.60 lakh, as of July 1, 2024. Manipur is the 23rd-most populous state in India. It is the fourth-largest state in northeastern India in terms of population. Manipur’s population is projected to reach 35.53 lakh in 2036.

The size of the population of Manipur is equivalent to that of Puerto Rico, which ranks 136th in the world.

In 2024, the sex ratio of the total population in Manipur will be 100.615 males per 100 females. There are 1,635,000, or 1.64 million, or 16.35 lakh, males and 1,625,000, or 1.63 million, or 16.25 lakh, females in Manipur. Manipur has 10,000, or 10k, more males than females.

Manipur accounts for 0.23 percent of the Indian population, 0.01% less than the peak of 0.24% in 2011. The population growth rate in 2024 is projected at 0.90%, the 14th highest among states. Manipur will add 29,000 more people in 2024.
