List of Oceanian countries by population

Australia is the most populous in Oceania. Australia and Papua New Guinea are the only Oceanian countries with a total number of humans above ten million. New Zealand is the remaining one with a total number of humans above one million. The top three countries together hold a huge 92% share of the Oceania population. The least populous country in Oceania is Tuvalu. Niue is the least populous region in Oceania.

Most of the Oceanian countries/territories have a very low population, as none of the countries are on the list of the world's top 50 world population rankings and only two are in the top 100.

Out of 23 countries/territories, the population of 14 would increase, and nine countries would decrease in 2025. Australia's population would increase by 258k, followed by Papua New Guinea (186k). Marshall Islands would be the top decliner, followed by American Samoa and Northern Mariana Islands.

Tokelau would have the highest population growth rate of 3.68%, followed by Solomon Islands (2.33%). Five countries have a growth rate above 1%. Three countries are on the list of the world's top 50 fastest-growing nations. Marshall Islands would have the lowest population growth rate of -3.48%.

In 1950, Nauru was the least populous country in Oceania. By 2100, Palau will become the least populous country.
