World death and birth rate

The global number of births will be around 132.41 million births in 2024, which is 296k more than compared to 132.11 million in 2023. There are 361,765 babies born each day in the world, which translates to 15,074 each hour, 251 each minute, and around 4 each second. In 1950, total births per year were the lowest at 91.82 million. Total births per year peaked in 2012 with 146.05 million births. The yearly number of births will remain relatively stable in the range of 130-140 million per year over the coming decades.

In the future, the number of births is expected to fall and the number of deaths to rise; hence the global population will grow at a slow rate. The total deaths will overtake total births in the year 2084 resulting in a world population decline.
