GDP of Kosovo

According to the IMF World Economic Outlook (April 2026), Kosovo's nominal GDP in 2026 is projected to be around $14.05 billion, about $1.6 billion higher than the $12.45 billion recorded in 2025. Between 2020 and 2026, Kosovo's nominal GDP increased by about $6.32 billion, rising from $7.73 billion in 2020 to $14.05 billion in 2026. This represents an increase of approximately 81.76% over the six-year period. The $6.32 billion increase is equivalent to about 45.0% of Kosovo's projected GDP in 2026.

Kosovo currently accounts for approximately 0.01% of global GDP. Its share of the world economy has increased by approximately 42.9% since 2000, rising from 0.007% to approximately 0.01% in 2026, its highest level on record.

In 2026, Kosovo ranks 150th out of 195 economies in terms of nominal GDP. Using aggregated data from the World Bank and the IMF, Kosovo ranked 151st among 207 economies in 2025, placing it in approximately the bottom 27% of economies. Between 2000 and 2025, its ranking remained within a relatively narrow range, from 146th to 159th among more than 200 economies worldwide. World Bank GDP estimates have been available since 1997, when Kosovo's GDP was USD 2.22 billion.

In nominal terms, Kosovo ranks as the 39th largest economy in Europe, accounting for approximately 0.044% of Europe's total nominal GDP.

Based on purchasing power parity (PPP), Kosovo's GDP in 2026 is forecast at $34.20 billion international dollars, ranking 148th out of 195 economies in the world. Kosovo accounts for 0.015% of the world's total GDP (PPP). Its GDP at purchasing power parity (PPP) is 2.43 times its nominal GDP.
