Projected GDP Ranking

As of 2025, the United States and China will occupy the first two places in both methods' GDP rankings. The US and China's margins are coming down in nominal rankings as China's GDP growth rate in 2025 (4.80%) is higher than the US's 2.02%. On a nominal basis, the US will be ahead of China by $11.2 trillion in 2025. On a PPP basis, China is ahead of the US by Int. $10.4 trillion, and the gap is increasing. China will remain the world's largest economy on a PPP basis over the next few decades, as the second-ranked US is growing slowly and third-ranked India is way behind.

Germany overtook Japan in 2023 to claim the third spot. India is projected to surpass Japan to become the 4th largest economy globally in 2026.

In the PPP list, the rankings of the top three economies will remain unchanged, as the margins between these three are much wider.

In the nominal GDP list, Russia will enter the top 10 list, overtaking Canada and Brazil. Another change in the top 20 would be Spain overtaking Australia, South Korea, and Mexico. Türkiye, the Netherlands, and Poland will overtake Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland, respectively. Among the top 50, the economic ranks of Spain would move up by three positions, and Russia, Israel, Romania, Pakistan, and the Czech Republic by two spots. In contrast, Iran would lose five places, followed by Egypt by three spots.

In the PPP ranking, there would be only one change in the top 10 list, as Indonesia would overtake Brazil. Among the top 50, Kazakhstan will move up by two spots.

On the list of the top 50, Ireland is the fastest-growing economy with 9.11%, followed by India (6.65%) and Vietnam (6.46%). Germany has the lowest growth rate in 2025.

The United States (1,8) is present in both lists of the top ten GDP and GDP per capita rankings in nominal terms. Germany (3,19), Australia (15,13), and the Netherlands (18,11) are in the top twenty lists of GDP and GDP per capita. In PPP, the United States (2,11) is present in the top 20.
